Welcome to the Waverley Borough Council Consultation Portal. This portal will give you the opportunity to get involved in various areas of Council work including the preparation of the Local Development Framework (LDF) which is an important area of work which will help shape the future of Waverley.
The opportunities to get involved are separated into various consultation topics. You won't be able to leave your comments until you have either registered as a new user, or as an existing user logged in.
New Users: How to Register
If you would like to take part and leave comments, you will need to register online as a user of this portal. It is a requirement of planning law that we need to know who is making comments. Your name, possibly the town where you live or work, and your comments will be available for the public to view. Information on which details will be made available to the public will be displayed alongside any opportunity to get involved, ensuring that you are informed from the start.
When you register (at this stage you will enter just your name, email address, create a Username and Password), you will quickly receive an email from 'consult' which will include instructions on activating your account. You can't leave comments until your account has been activated. Click on the link in the email,and this will take you back to the portal where you can add further details, such as your address, how you want to be consulted in future etc, and then you can make your comments. Please be assured that you will only be asked to add these details once, but you can amend them at any time. You may wish to make a note of your Username and Password for future consultations.
Existing Users
Please use the Username and Password that you used on previous occasions.
If you can't remember what either of these were, please don't re-register!Either use the 'forgotten password or Username' request button, or go to our help sheets on our website. You will quickly be sent an email with a reminder. Your password will be a collection of characters and figures, which you should use initially, but you should change this to something more memorable by editing your account. You may be offered the option for your system to remember your password, depending on the settings of your system.
Important Note
Please note that all comments submitted have to be processed by the Council before they will appear under the All Comments section, and this will not happen immediately.
If you are unsure of the status of your comment please look under My Account (located at the top of this screen), this will show you the amount of comments you have waiting as draft comments, or whether your comments have been submitted or processed.

Email Preferences
We also suggest that you ensure that your email preferences are set to receiving emails weekly or when an event closes. This is because otherwise, the consultation portal will automatically generate an acknowledgement of each individual comment that you make on the document, once processed by us, and you may then be inundated with emails. You also have the option not to receive any acknowledgement emails. You can do this once you have started to submit comments. A 'thank you for your comments' box will appear, stating what your current preference is i.e. Daily/ weekly, etc with a link to enable you to amend your preference. This can always be changed again for any future consultations.
